Welcome to Michigan Garden Design, your source for native gardening tips and inspiration tailored to Michigan landscapes.

If you’re dreaming of a beautiful, peaceful, and low-maintenance garden that works with nature instead of against it, you’re in the right place.

I’m Barbara Fleury, a Michigan Master Gardener with 30 years of experience designing gardens that feel alive, support pollinators, and celebrate our state’s unique seasons and soils.

From native plant recommendations and seasonal guidance to simple design ideas that bring more birds, butterflies, and beauty to your yard — this is a space for learning, growing, and reconnecting with Michigan’s natural rhythms.
